Job Title: Parish Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer Kimpton Parish Council are seeking a new Parish Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer to support the day to day running of the Parish Council. The role is a home based part time position with a salary of £3600 per annum. The working hours will be flexible to suit the applicant. The successful candidate will be required to attend Parish Council meetings, and in some cases, meet specific deadlines relating to Council business. Parish Council meetings are held in the evening and take place nine times a year.
The role will include the following tasks> • Organising Parish Council meetings, including • preparing the agenda • taking the minutes • supporting councillors in any follow up actions • Managing Parish compliance with legal and financial obligations • Managing Parish correspondence • Managing Parish finances • Preparing Annual Accounts • Preparing the Annual Parish Budget • Arranging annual insurance for the Council • Liasing with Parish, Borough and County Councillors • Liaising with contractors • Other activities to support the Parish and the Parish Council The role requires an organised person with good communication skills. Experience of book-keeping and general IT knowledge will be required and previous experience of administration and/or financial roles would be useful. Training will be provided, and the Council would support you towards gaining Certification in Local Council Administration.
